Benefits of Juicing for Health + BeautyWhen Williams-Sonoma reached out to me regarding participating in their juicing initiative, I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to share this Q & A segment with you.  For two reasons, one I love amazing-for-you fresh juice and two I love Williams-Sonoma.

They asked me three great questions that will be helpful for you on your juicing journey.  And don’t miss out on my extra fun tip at the end!  {Hint: it includes champagne!}

1. I noticed you give a lot of healthy tips for brides. Seeing that most brides are looking to lose weight for their big day, what are your thoughts on incorporating juicing into their diet?

Yes, I work closely with brides preparing them for their wedding day so they feel healthy, beautiful, stress-free and excited to tie the knot.  In our sessions, we dive into what healthy eating really is and easy ways to incorporate healthy foods and habits for weight loss.  And part of what I recommend to my brides is incorporating fresh juices from whole, nourishing foods into their diets.  I am also a green smoothie lover so I recommend adding in both since they each have amazing benefits.  Since there is no fiber in juice, the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients instantly enter your bloodstream and give your digestive system a break.  Juicing is great to help with healthy weight loss, increasing energy, beautiful, clear skin, and feeling good overall.  Juicing is an easy way for brides to hit on pretty much each of their goals!  I also love it because it’s a simple step that will build momentum in creating a healthy lifestyle.

2. What are some tips you can give to someone who is looking to start a juice cleanse for a week? When is the best time to drink juice?

Well, I don’t typically recommend juice cleanses for a week.  Maybe a 3-day cleanse, but I have to be honest and say I’ve never done a juice cleanse.  What I do is make it a healthy staple in my weekly diet so my body consistently receives these abundant nutrients.  This way, it’s not so shocking to the body when you begin and then when you finish a juice cleanse.  I much prefer if a bride were to add 2-3 juices per week into her diet, making it a constant rather than just a short-term event.  They will have much better success with reaching their goals and maintaining a long lasting healthy lifestyle this way.

3. Juicing has so many benefits, what are your thoughts on juicing to help your skin? What ingredients do you suggest someone use in their juice recipe to help with clear glowing skin?

Juicing for your beautiful skin is an absolute must!  The abundant vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties found in juices provide clear and glowing skin, help reduce acne, decrease wrinkles, prevent aging, and hydrate the skin.  Some of my favorite beautifying veggies and fruits to include in your juices are cucumbers, carrots, dark leafy greens like kale and spinach, beets, parsley, ginger, lemons, apple, and pineapple.

And now for my extra fun tip: If you’re a champagne girl and love mimosas, you must try my Green Mimosa recipe!  I love including this cocktail for fun events I host.  It’s delicious and healthier!;)

To make the Green Mimosa:

  1. Juice spinach, pear and lemon to make your delicious green juice.
  2. Fill your glass with half champagne and half green juice.
  3. Cheers!

Thank you so much to Williams-Sonoma for including me in this important initiative on juicing and living a healthy lifestyle!

Also, Williams-Sonoma has a great juicer resource page that is helpful if you’re interested in juicing.
