Homemade, dairy-free, vegan and spiked! What could be better to treat Santa Claus with than Spiked Hot Cocoa? Made with raw cacao which is basically raw chocolate and a superfood. So, side note…chocolate IS good for you!
And instead of being loaded with refined sugar like most hot chocolates, this has a gentle natural sweetener. This will help keep Santa slim and trim, and tipsy!
You can also make this hot cocoa without alcohol if you want a non-alcoholic, delicious homemade hot chocolate. Or you can also experiment with another favorite type of liquor.
Servings: 1 large Christmas mug
Ingredients:
1½ tbsp cacao powder
1 can organic coconut milk
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp cinnamon
½ oz. whiskey {or more if you think Santa needs it!}
Directions:
- Blend coconut milk, cacao powder, syrup, vanilla and cinnamon in Vitamix for 3-4 minutes on high, which makes the mixture hot. If you don’t have a Vitamix, no worries, just first blend ingredients together in blender and then heat the mixture on the stove over medium heat.
- Pour the hot cocoa into your favorite Santa mug.
- Add in whiskey and stir.
- Optional: Top with marshmallows, organic candy cane, and cinnamon.
- Set out with some homemade cookies for Santa!
