Lately, I’ve been in major organizing and rearranging mode at home. Probably because Spring is here, and this is the perfect time for a new, fresh update on home décor. I’ve been trying to style my dresser in a chic, fun way so I reached out to my sweet friend Katey McFarlan, fashion + lifestyle blogger of Chronicles of Frivolity, for some much-appreciated advice on 4 ways to style your dresser.
I thought it would be fun to share something a little different on the blog! So, I visited Katey in her beautiful home for some decoration inspo and snapped these photos of her styling suggestions to share with y’all! Whether you want a dresser that’s practical, stylish or magazine worthy, we’ve got you covered with these four suggestions to help you find your unique dresser style.
Stylish Dresser Must-Haves
- Books
- Magazines
- Art prints
- Jewelry bowls
- Tray
- Lamp
- Mirror
- Fresh flowers
- Vases
- Candles
- Makeup & makeup container
- Perfume
- Something special and unique to you {family heirloom, grandma’s jewelry box, favorite heels}
1. Chic Catchall
Perfect set up if you need a place to throw your keys and take off your jewelry at the end of the day. Practical and organized!
2. Voguish Vanity
This is such a fun way to showcase your pretty shades of lipstick and makeup favorites along with your cute perfume bottles. It’s also a great option if you have nice lighting in your bedroom so you can just grab a mirror and pull up a comfy stool and do your makeup.
3. Easy Entertaining
Make your dresser into the life of the party! So simple, just add a few bottles of champagne or wine and a classic record player. A cheeky art print will also lead to some great conversations.
4. Stylish Storage
Unique, stylish and functional! This is a great option for two reasons: one, if you love shoes and want to use them as pretty décor, and two, if you don’t have a lot of closet space. Just stack shoeboxes on top of magazines and coffee table books, and set out your two favorite pairs of shoes.
What is your favorite dresser style? I’d love to hear!
