Apple Fauxnuts Yes, I’m back with another apple post!  Two posts in a row!  I just can’t help it, apples are just too good in the fall.  If you missed last week’s Apple Pie Smoothie, make sure to check it out! It’s a great seasonal breakfast.   Plus, I included a little info on apples you might find interesting. I’ve been slicing apples and topping with almond butter and dark chocolate chips for some time now, but it wasn’t until I came across the Lorna Jane blog post on apple fauxnuts that I was inspired to make my snack look like donuts and to get even more creative with my toppings! These fauxnuts are a perfect snack, breakfast or dessert.  Plus, they are super fun to make since they look like donuts and you can add all kinds of fun toppings!  Unlike donuts, however, there is no guilt with enjoying these treats plus they are gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free, refined sugar-free, basically all kinds of free.  Plus, all the goodness from the apples and protein and healthy fats from the almond butter.  I prefer the freshly ground almond butter from Whole Foods that you grind yourself.  keep reading
