Stars & Stripes Smoothie Bowl This is the second smoothie recipe in our four-week series, and with July 4th just a few days away, I had to make this week’s recipe all festive for you! This red, white and blue smoothie bowl will not only put you in the stars + stripes spirit, it will provide you with numerous nutritional benefits to keep you hydrated, healthy and full of energy.  Stars & Stripes Smoothie Bowl It’s packed with potassium, vitamin C, fiber, B-vitamins, plant-based protein, omega 3s, and antioxidants. It’s great for digestion, a healthy heart, boosting your immune system, boosting your metabolism, stabilizing blood sugar + pretty, youthful skin. Servings: 2 Ingredients: 1 cup filtered water 1 cup strawberries 1 cup watermelon 1 frozen banana 2 tbsp flaxseed 2 tbsp hemp seeds Toppings: blueberries unsweetened coconut flakes watermelon stars Stars & Stripes Smoothie Bowl Directions: 1. Blend all ingredients together in a high-powered blender. 2. Using a mini star cookie cutter, make your watermelon stars. 3. Pour smoothie into bowl, and top with fresh blueberries, coconut and watermelon stars. 4. Optional: Use a smaller-sized watermelon {I used a small organic one} as your smoothie bowl for some extra summery fun! Just cut watermelon in half and scrape out to make bowl.
