Apple Pie Smoothie photo

Since apple pie is a fall favorite, I of course, had to create a healthier smoothie version.  And I’m so glad I did!  It seriously hits that apple pie craving without all the sugar, gluten and dairy.  Plus, it’s full of protein, fiber, antioxidants and healthy fats.

Let’s do a quick superfruit spotlight on apples:  After bananas, apples are the second most popular fruit!  For good reason…they are not only crispy and delicious, but they are great for your health.  Apples are high in antioxidants and are great sources of immune-boosting vitamin C.  They can help you stay healthy and fight off colds, which is important this time of year.  Plus, vitamin C is great for pretty skin!  Apples are also full of fiber which can help you stay full and satisfied.  Lastly, make sure to buy organic apples.  Apples are one of the highest ranking fruits on the Dirty Dozen list, meaning conventional apples have the highest amount of pesticides.

As an extra bonus, I topped this apple pie smoothie with some pumpkin fig granola.  Yep!  What’s better than having apple pie and pumpkin flavors all rolled into one?  I kind of think nothing!  A perfect fall breakfast to keep you healthy and full of energy.
