Protein is a hot topic. Where exactly should you get your protein? Should you eat vegan, vegetarian, paleo, mostly plant based with a little meat and animal products? The key is to find what works best for you.
Here are a few ways you can check in to see if you’re getting enough protein or the right type of protein:
Do you have low energy? Do you have sugar cravings often? Do you feel hungry often? Never really satisfied after a meal?
If you notice low energy, major cravings, or constantly feel hungry, it could be a sign you need to take a look at the quantity and quality of the protein you’re consuming.

Extra protein tips for you: You want to try to have protein at every meal to help keep your insulin and sugar in balance and to keep your metabolism moving. You will also be less hungry throughout the day. Protein at breakfast is especially important to get your day started full of energy and will set you up to not overeat.
And while you do want to make sure you’re getting enough protein, you also don’t want to overdo it, as this can lead to weight gain and health issues.
